APC faction recommends suspension of Chief Mimi Orubibi for criticizing Buhari led government

File photo of APC members and Mimi Orubibi APC Kwande chapter has recommended the suspension of it's front line member, Chief Mimi Orubibi Adzape for criticizing the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari for failing to protect Nigerians since assumption of office. Adzape was fingered for suspension alongside two other party members Benjamin Wayo and Iorfa Dzoho for anti party activities. Orubibi who contested the Benue North East senatorial election in 2019 on the APC's ticket but lost to Suswam had lamented the uncaring attitude if the APC-led administration in addressing the plight of the IDPs of militant herdsmen in parts of the country and Benue state in particular. We’ve not stopped Nigerians from using Twitter, FG tells court

Eniola Akinkuotu  23 July 2021   The Federal Government has told a Federal High Court in Lagos that it has not stopped Nigerians from using social media platform, Twitter, adding that many Nigerians are still using it every day. The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and the Federal Government said this in a counter-affidavit they deposed to in response to an originating motion filed by human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, which was obtained by The PUNCH on Thursday. The government had on June 4, 2021, suspended Twitter barely two days after the social media platform deleted a tweet by the President, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.). However, many Nigerians have bypassed the Twitter suspension by using Virtual Private Network. Many people have argued if the church is supposed to be a neutral ground or not, especially when it comes to the issue of governance. There have been controversies about the stance of the church on social politics and governance. When the Israelites were oppressed, God always used his servants; the likes of Moses to protest against injustice and oppression of his people especially in the land of Egypt. Even in the new testament, the bible shows that Jesus who the church represents on earth was an unapologetic activist whose core mandate was to liberate mankind. The entity called Nigeria has been faced with bad leadership and resultant bad governance and many religious leaders have continued to be on the fence, citing governance as politics that they do not want to indulge in.
