Four students of Capro Secondary Mission School located at Gana Ropp in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State were abducted in the early hours of Thursday, Channels TV reports. However, three of the students have escaped, while one is still in captivity. The school is an arm of Calvary ministries. Capro is few kilometres away from the Yakubu Gowon airport and about 60 kilometres from Jos, the state capital. 'Repentant' bandit Auwal Daudawa who masterminded the kankara students abduction returns to kidnapping

Auwal Daudawa, the little known bandit leader in Zamfara State, who shot to prominence after masterminding abduction of over 300 students in neighbouring Katsina State has gone back to the trenches, less than three months after his celebrated repentance. A security source and two other sources close to the bandit confirmed to  Daily Trust  on Wednesday that Daudawa has relocated to one of the forests, near the border with Katsina. The State Security Service has held Usman Bugaje for criticising the Buhari administration’s handling of insecurity across the country. Accoesing to Peoples Gazette, Mr Bugaje, a politician and scholar, was held by state agents after appearing on AIT. He has been at the secret police’s custody since 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, sources said. Mr Bugaje added his voice to growing concerns amongst Nigerians about insecurity. The politician had previously condemned Mr Buhari’s failure to tackle the economy, as well as his sectional appointments. It was not immediately clear whether the SSS would release Mr Bugaje today. A spokesman for the service did not immediately return a request seeking comments from The Gazette. Abducted students of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (FUAM), in Benue State, have regained their freedom. The school authority had on Monday declared that an unspecified number of its students were taken away at gunpoint while studying in a theatre hall at the College of Engineering on campus. Fresh facts emerged on Monday on how gunmen shot the Imo State Commissioner for Entrepreneurship and Skill Acquisition, Iyke Ume. The PUNCH  had reported that there was panic in Owerri, the state capital, as gunmen shot no fewer than four motorists in a Sunday night robbery attack. The incident happened at Orji, on Owerri- Okigwe Road very close to the Orji Divisional Police Headquarters. One of the motorists who was shot was driving an unmarked security vehicle. The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC has suspended Channels Television with a fine N5 million for breaching the broadcast code. In a letter to the Managing Director of Channels Television signed by the Acting Director General of the Commission, NBC, Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, the Commission referred to Channels 7pm live broadcast programme of Sunday, 25th April, 2021, in which it accused the TV station of allowing a leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB to make secessionist and inciting declarations on air without caution or reprimand by the station contrary to the broadcast code. United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, will virtually meet with President Muhammadu Buhari over security and economic issues, a statement from the US State Department said on Monday. The meeting is part of Blinken’s first virtual trip to Africa, which begins on Tuesday. He is scheduled to visit Kenya and Nigeria while engaging with young people from across the continent. Blinken’s meeting with Buhari “will underscore our shared goals of strengthening democratic governance, building lasting security, and promoting economic ties and diversification,” the US State Department statement said.
